Blog 3: Mayer's Principles Each in Only One Sentece
yer's Principles of Multimedia Learning. But the thing is that I didn't know their names. I will briefly describe the principles, but I will not go into detail by giving their names.
 Do not include distracting materials.
 Signal the most important part.
Do narration and graphics together but do not include text as a third element.
Relevant things should be physically grouped.
Visuals + Voice-over should be done simultaneously.
 Divide information into sections.
Do a pre-training to recall background knowledge.
Visuals and spoken words are better than visuals and text.
Pictures are better teachers than texts.
Informal addressing helps humans to learn better.
Human voice should be preferred over a robotic voice.
You do not need to put your head in a video, it does not help with learning.
Basically these are the principles to apply when producing a video teaching material, from now on you should be able to watch YouTube videos, and choose the best ones accordingly. Because it is possible to see even some popular YouTubers do not apply these rules into their videos, but still they get millions of views. The real question is that are their videos being watched because they are helpful or because they are popular?
