Blog 9: Physical Education
Is Physical Education in schools, useless or not?
In schools there are many activities that students do for physical education, jumping, climbing, running, playing football, basketball, gymnastics and the list goes on. Some students see physical education as a pointless activity. The students should be active, because a person till they become adults, have the energy to go on whole day, do many activities, but at the same time they need to recharge, use muscles build up strength. It cannot be deniable that students sit on their chairs all day long, they only have 10 minute breaks in between the lessons. And most of the students only go to the toilet because 10 minutes are not long enough to do anything. Now here is the problem, how these students will move and regain their focus? Physical Education lessons come to aid this situation, even though they are not much in lesson time they do have many benefits. According to a research the main benefits of physical education is it develops students both psychologically and physically (Bailey et al., 2009). It has been proven that concentration and arousal are increased by physical exercise, which directly correlates with academic success.
Students need to do sports, especially during Covid-19 times.
Some students think that physical education is a useless lesson.
